USDC wallet — self-custody stablecoins on iOS
People search for a "USDC wallet" for one of three reasons: they want stable-value storage without a bank, they want to move money across borders without wire fees, or they want a base currency to trade from on a DEX. In every case the same trap is waiting — parking USDC on a Coinbase, Kraken, or Binance account is convenient right up until the platform freezes withdrawals, restricts your country, or fails.
VEYRNOX is a self-custody USDC wallet on iOS. Your stablecoins live at addresses only your iPhone can sign for. No custodian to freeze the balance, no seed phrase to phish.
USDC and USDT across four networks
Veyrnox supports the two dominant stablecoins on the four networks most stablecoin flows actually use:
- USDC on Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Solana.
- USDT on the same networks, for counterparties who default to Tether.
- Native gas assets — ETH, MATIC, ARB, SOL — held in the same wallet so you can always pay the fee to move the stablecoin.
Why self-custody matters for a stablecoin wallet
Custodial stablecoin balances are a claim on the platform, not on-chain USDC. Every recent exchange failure has proven the same lesson — "not your keys, not your coins" applies to stablecoins too. A self-custody USDC wallet gives you the on-chain balance directly:
- No withdrawal queue when the platform gets stressed.
- No geographic restrictions the exchange decides to apply overnight.
- No counterparty risk beyond the token issuer itself.
Veyrnox adds the piece that self-custody usually lacks: a recovery model that doesn't depend on a seed phrase. An 8-digit PIN plus a Shamir shard in your personal cloud (iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) (Safety Plus tier) reconstitutes your keys — no 12 words to lose, screenshot, or hand to a phishing site.
Stablecoin use cases that work on Veyrnox
- Remittance: send USDC on Polygon, Arbitrum, or Solana to anyone with a wallet address, at network fees rather than wire fees.
- Savings buffer: hold USDC as a stable-value balance without giving custody to an exchange.
- DEX access: connect to DEXs via WalletConnect v2 and swap USDC in and out of other assets on-chain.
- Payments to contractors: pay in USDC to any wallet address, with the fee shown on-screen before you sign.
Stablecoin wallet iOS comparison
- Coinbase / Kraken / Binance: custodial USDC balances. The platform holds the keys and controls the withdrawal.
- Trust Wallet / MetaMask: self-custody stablecoin support, but seed-phrase recovery — a phishing message is one drain away from your entire USDC balance.
- VEYRNOX: USDC and USDT on Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Solana, Shamir-sharded backup, 8-digit PIN plus Face ID, hardware-bound signing in the Secure Enclave, no recovery-phrase field in the UI.
How it works
USDC and USDT are ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum, and SPL tokens on Solana. That means each stablecoin balance actually lives at a per-chain address, and moving it costs the network fee of the underlying chain. Veyrnox generates the keypairs for each supported chain inside the Secure Enclave on your iPhone during setup, then presents them as a single unified stablecoin balance in the portfolio view. When you send USDC on Polygon, for example, the app constructs a Polygon transaction calling the USDC contract's transfer function, hands it to the enclave for signing behind a Face ID prompt, and broadcasts it to a Polygon RPC node. Balances read straight from each chain. Veyrnox never holds your stablecoins; the tokens live at on-chain addresses only your iPhone can sign for.
Fees
Veyrnox charges $0 for wallet operations on stablecoins. Receiving USDC or USDT on any supported network is free, and there is no monthly subscription required to send. Your only cost is the network fee of the chain you send on — gas in ETH on Ethereum, in MATIC on Polygon, in ARB on Arbitrum, or in SOL on Solana. Ethereum mainnet gas is usually the highest of the four, which is why Polygon, Arbitrum, and Solana are popular for routine stablecoin flows. Veyrnox shows the estimated network fee alongside the amount and recipient on the confirmation screen so you can see the total cost before you sign with Face ID. There is no Veyrnox markup on network fees, no spread, and no in-app percentage take.
Supported networks — where your USDC and USDT live
Veyrnox natively supports USDC and USDT across the four networks that carry the vast majority of stablecoin flow: Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Solana. Ethereum has the deepest liquidity for large transfers and DeFi. Polygon and Arbitrum are the default for cheap, fast USDC transfers between wallets. Solana is popular for high-frequency stablecoin activity thanks to its low base fee. Because each chain has its own address, the recipient needs to accept the specific chain you send on — a USDC transfer to a Polygon address only works from a Polygon-side wallet. Veyrnox picks the right chain automatically based on the destination address and warns you if a mismatch is likely. The app also holds the native gas asset for each chain — ETH, MATIC, ARB, SOL — so you always have gas available to move a stablecoin.
Compared to competitors
The main alternatives for holding stablecoins split into two groups. Custodial platforms — Coinbase, Kraken, Binance — hold your USDC on their books, which is convenient right up until the platform freezes withdrawals, restricts your country, or fails. Every recent exchange incident has proved the same lesson: "not your keys, not your coins" applies to stablecoins too. The self-custody alternatives — MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet — remove the exchange counterparty but keep the seed-phrase model, so a single phished 12-word phrase is one drain away from your entire USDC and USDT balance across every chain. Veyrnox takes the third path: real on-chain self-custody with the seed phrase removed. Your keys live in the Secure Enclave, recovery is an 8-digit PIN plus a Shamir shard in your personal cloud (iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) (Safety Plus tier), and there is no recovery-phrase field in the UI for a phishing site to spoof. One important caveat that applies to every stablecoin wallet, not just Veyrnox: the USDC and USDT issuers themselves can freeze specific addresses at the contract level. That is a property of the tokens, not the wallet, and it is the reason some users hold a portion of their stable-value reserves in a non-issuer-frozen asset alongside their USDC.
Security model
Stablecoin balances are exactly the kind of target that phishing sites optimize for — high value per address, high transaction volume, and users who are often moving quickly. Veyrnox's security model addresses each part. Signing happens inside the Secure Enclave on your iPhone, gated by Face ID or Touch ID and the 8-digit PIN. The app cannot construct a signed transaction without an explicit biometric approval on the confirmation screen, and the confirmation screen shows the contract, the amount, and the destination before you approve. Recovery uses Shamir Secret Sharing: the material needed to reconstruct your keys is split into KEK-encrypted shards across your device (Secure Enclave) and your personal cloud (iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.), and reconstitution requires both. Veyrnox holds no shard. Runtime Application Self-Protection blocks signing on rooted or jailbroken devices and on phones running instrumentation frameworks. And because the app never displays a recovery phrase, phishing sites cannot spoof a UI that does not exist. For deeper detail see Security at Veyrnox, No seed phrase wallet, and Shamir wallet.

AI Security Protection for USDC and stablecoin holders
USDC lives on eight-plus chains and its holders are the highest-value target for drainer contracts, spoofed bridge sites, and unlimited-approval traps that empty a stablecoin balance in one signature. AI Security Protection — $19.99/mo, coming soon — is the Veyrnox tier that adds pre-sign and continuous threat intelligence on top of the Shamir + Secure Enclave core.
Because USDC moves across chains, the tier's shipped features apply broadly. Address Threat Screening runs every recipient — on any supported chain — through the TIP (Threat Intelligence Platform) edge function before you sign, catching flagged drainer destinations and burn addresses. Risk Scoring is a nine-signal, rule-based composite (deterministic, not a learned model) that reads a numeric risk score on the transfer or bridge call before you approve. Token Approval Review lists every ERC-20 USDC allowance you've granted per spender with per-address risk notes and one-tap revoke, and Approval Monitor is a background poller that alerts you when a new approval or a risky incoming USDC transfer lands. Phishing Site Detection is a curated blocklist that catches spoofed Circle, Uniswap, and bridge frontends before you connect. See Plans & pricing for the full AI Security Protection tier.
Frequently asked questions
Does Veyrnox support USDC?
Yes. Veyrnox supports USDC on Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Solana, alongside USDT on the same networks.
How is a self-custody USDC wallet different from Coinbase or Kraken?
USDC held on Coinbase or Kraken sits in a custodial account. The exchange can freeze, restrict, or lose access to your balance. In Veyrnox, USDC lives at an address only your iPhone can sign for.
Which network should I use to send USDC?
It depends on the recipient. Ethereum has the deepest liquidity. Polygon, Arbitrum, and Solana typically have lower network fees. Veyrnox lets you send USDC on whichever supported network your counterparty accepts.
Can I use Veyrnox for stablecoin savings or remittance?
Yes. Because Veyrnox is self-custody, you can hold USDC or USDT as a stable-value balance, send to any address worldwide, and connect to DEXs via WalletConnect v2 for on-chain swaps.
Is my USDC self-custody in Veyrnox?
Yes. Veyrnox holds no shard, no key, and cannot sign for you. Your stablecoins live at addresses only your device can sign for. Note that USDC and USDT issuers can freeze specific addresses at the contract level — that is a property of the tokens themselves, not the wallet.
What does Veyrnox charge to send USDC or USDT?
Veyrnox charges $0 for wallet operations. You only pay the network fee of whichever chain you send on — gas in ETH on Ethereum, MATIC on Polygon, ARB on Arbitrum, or SOL on Solana — shown on the confirmation screen before you approve with Face ID.
Do I need to keep gas on every network I hold stablecoins on?
Yes — sending an ERC-20 stablecoin costs gas in the network's native asset, and sending an SPL stablecoin costs SOL. Veyrnox lets you hold ETH, MATIC, ARB, and SOL alongside your stablecoins so you always have gas available to move funds.
Is Android supported?
iOS today, Android coming soon.
