Phantom wallet alternative — Veyrnox: multi-chain, no seed phrase
Phantom set the standard for Solana wallets — clean UX, fast Solana experience, deep SPL and NFT support. As Solana users broaden into Bitcoin and Ethereum, though, Phantom's origin story shows: it is Solana-native, its multi-chain support arrived later and treats non-Solana assets as guests, and it is still a browser-extension-first product with a BIP-39 seed phrase at its core. VEYRNOX is the Phantom alternative for Solana holders who want Solana done right plus first-class Bitcoin and Ethereum in the same iOS app. SOL and SPL tokens are native. BTC is native, not wrapped. ETH and every ERC-20 across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, and BNB Chain are native. Recovery is Shamir sharded across your device and your personal cloud (iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) — no twelve-word seed to type into a fake support page.
Why users switch from Phantom
Phantom users typically move for one of three reasons: they added Bitcoin or Ethereum exposure and want it in one wallet, they got tired of the seed-phrase primitive, or they want an iOS-native experience without the browser-extension surface. Specific pains:
- Solana-first, everything else second. Phantom added support for other chains but the app was built around SOL and SPL. Veyrnox is chain-agnostic in the recovery model — one 8-digit PIN plus iCloud shard reconstitutes keys for Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and every supported EVM L2 with equal priority.
- Seed phrase in the UI. Phantom onboards new users with a 12-word seed. Every phishing "Phantom support" page targets that exact primitive. Veyrnox has no seed-phrase field, so there is nothing to spoof.
- Browser-extension attack surface. Phantom's extension is a persistent, JavaScript-scriptable presence in every tab. Look-alike extensions and clipboard hijackers have targeted Solana wallets specifically. Veyrnox is mobile-native only — no extension.
- Wrapped BTC is not BTC. Wrapped Bitcoin on Solana is an IOU issued against custodial reserves; native BTC is the actual asset. Veyrnox holds native BTC on the Bitcoin network.
- No coercion mode. Phantom has one unlock. Under duress, that is the whole balance. Veyrnox Safety Plus ships a decoy wallet.
- Signing prompts on Solana. Malicious Solana dApps have exploited blind-signing on complex program calls. Veyrnox parses transactions before the Face ID prompt so you can see the target program and asset before approving.

Migrating from Phantom to Veyrnox
Veyrnox can import an existing Phantom seed phrase. If you want a completely fresh Veyrnox wallet, you can also create a new one and transfer funds over instead:
- Install Veyrnox from the App Store and complete the 8-digit PIN plus personal cloud shard setup (iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).
- In Veyrnox, tap Receive on Solana. Copy the address (Solana addresses look like
7xKX...w2jS). - In Phantom, send SOL and each SPL token to that Veyrnox address. Do a small test send first, always.
- For NFTs on Solana, transfer each collection to the Veyrnox Solana address using Phantom's send flow.
- If you also held wrapped BTC or wrapped ETH on Solana via Phantom, consider bridging or selling to native BTC and native ETH and receiving those into Veyrnox's Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses — native assets have a smaller trust surface than wrapped assets.
- Once Phantom shows zero, retire the app. Keep the old seed offline until you are certain nothing is left behind.
Pricing
Free — $0 forever. Full self-custody, hardware-bound signing in the Secure Enclave, optional seed import when needed, and all 10 supported assets (SOL and every SPL token, plus native BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, MATIC, ARB, OP, AVAX, and BNB).
Safety Plus — $5.99/month. Everything in Free plus Shamir-sharded seed backup across your device and your own cloud (KEK-encrypted shards at rest), and Coercion Resistance — a decoy wallet that unlocks under duress while your real holdings stay hidden.
AI Security Protection — $19.99/month · Coming soon. Everything in Safety Plus plus the AI Security Advisor: real-time warnings on malicious dApps, unsafe DEXs, phishing sites, and AI intervention on Transaction Simulation. See Plans.
All paid tiers are billed through the App Store and can be cancelled any time — self-custody is core to Veyrnox on every tier, so downgrading or cancelling never touches your keys, your balances, or your ability to sign. There is no annual lock-in, no free-trial dark pattern, and no separate exchange or brokerage account attached to your wallet. Compared to Phantom, the whole billing surface is shorter: one wallet, one subscription line item, one place to cancel.
Security model
Veyrnox uses Shamir Secret Sharing to split the material needed to reconstruct your keys into KEK-encrypted shards across your device (Secure Enclave) and your personal cloud (iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). Reconstitution requires both, happens inside the Secure Enclave, and never surfaces a plaintext key. Veyrnox holds no shard, no key, and runs no signing infrastructure — so Veyrnox cannot recover your wallet on your behalf and cannot be legally compelled to hand it over. Every signing operation across BTC, ETH, SOL, and every supported EVM L2 is gated by Face ID or Touch ID and the 8-digit PIN. RASP (Runtime Application Self-Protection) blocks signing on rooted or jailbroken devices and on phones running instrumentation frameworks. And because default setup does not require displaying a recovery phrase, phishing sites lose the most familiar wallet-restore screen by default. For deeper detail see Security at Veyrnox, No seed phrase wallet, Shamir wallet, and Duress wallet.
What Veyrnox does not do
The wallet market is full of adjacent products that quietly grow the trust surface — custodial swap engines, in-app exchanges, embedded lending, tokenised "yield" schemes, referral programs, and airdrop farms. Veyrnox does none of that. There is no in-app buy or sell flow that routes through a Veyrnox-operated custodian. There is no Veyrnox token, no rewards program, and no incentive structure that depends on you moving assets faster than you would otherwise. There is no analytics beacon collecting a fingerprint of what you hold or which dApps you visit — Veyrnox does not know your balance and does not need to. Every paid feature (Coercion Resistance on Safety Plus, the AI Security Advisor on AI Security Protection when it ships) is a security feature, priced as a subscription, billed through the App Store. That deliberate narrowness is what lets the trust model stay small enough to reason about: hardware-bound signing on your iPhone, two Shamir shards you control, one biometric prompt per transaction, and nothing in the middle.
Frequently asked questions
Is Phantom unsafe?
Phantom is a legitimate, widely used Solana wallet. The risks Veyrnox addresses are structural: a BIP-39 seed phrase that phishing pages target, and a browser-extension surface that malicious sites can probe. Veyrnox has neither.
Can I import my Phantom seed into Veyrnox?
Veyrnox can import an existing Phantom seed phrase. If you want a completely fresh Veyrnox wallet, you can also create a new one and transfer funds over instead.
Does Veyrnox support Solana, SPL tokens, and Solana NFTs like Phantom?
Yes. Solana is first-class — native SOL, native SPL tokens, and Solana NFTs are all supported. Veyrnox also natively supports Bitcoin (not wrapped), Ethereum, and every EVM L2 in the same app.
How does Veyrnox compare on fees?
Veyrnox charges $0 for wallet operations across every supported chain. You pay only each chain's native network fee — the Solana network fee in SOL, BTC miner fee, ETH gas, MATIC gas, etc. No Veyrnox markup or swap spread.
Can I connect to Solana dApps like Phantom does?
Yes, via WalletConnect v2, which now covers most Solana dApps. Review the request in-app, approve with Face ID, sign in the Secure Enclave. Veyrnox parses the program call before the biometric prompt so you can see what you are approving.
What about my Solana NFTs?
Solana NFTs live on-chain, not in the wallet. Transfer each collection from your Phantom Solana address to your Veyrnox Solana address. Veyrnox displays them in the asset view.
How much does Veyrnox cost?
Free forever for full self-custody, Face ID, and all 10 assets including native SOL. Safety Plus is $5.99/month and adds Shamir-sharded seed backup plus Coercion Resistance. AI Security Protection is $19.99/month, coming soon.
When is Android available?
iOS today, Android coming soon. Phantom already ships on Android; Veyrnox is iOS-first because the Secure Enclave and iCloud Keychain give the no-seed hardware-bound model a clean home. Android with StrongBox is on the roadmap.
